The strategic collaboration, unveiled at a two-day workshop in Abuja, is aimed at addressing persistent lapses in withholding tax deductions, Value Added Tax (VAT) remittances, and stamp duty administration across government institutions. The event, themed “Enhancing Tax Compliance through Collaboration,” brought together key stakeholders to co-develop sustainable solutions for strengthening public sector tax practices. FIRS Chairman, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, who spoke at the opening session, highlighted the urgent need to close compliance gaps despite the introduction of digital platforms like GIFMIS and TaxPro MAX. According to him, technical limitations and knowledge deficits have continued to undermine effective tax remittance, leading to significant revenue losses and recurring audit queries. “This engagement is not just another conference,” Adedeji said. “It’s a strategic shift to reset our tax compliance culture through practical collaboration and capacity building. Public institutions must lead by example if we want to grow our revenue base and achieve our development priorities.” More Details: #nigeriannewsdirect #newsdirect #newspaper #nigeriannewspaper #firs #economy XX engagements **Related Topics** [agencies](/topic/agencies) [tax bracket](/topic/tax-bracket) [Post Link](https://x.com/NigNewsDirect/status/1946216511452188969)
