But I don’t see why India should issue a statement about “the building’s landmark status, symbolising Bangla cultural renaissance.” If Bangladesh chooses not to care about iconic Bengali cultural and literary figures that’s their business. It’s unfortunate, of course. But ultimately every country gets to decide its own cultural priorities.
