What Is $IRYS Token Used For? More Than Just a Cryptocurrency?

The Core Utility of the Network

   The @irys_xyz  token is the lifeblood of the IRYS network. It will be used to pay for transaction execution, long-term data storage, and to stake as collateral for securing the network.

Pricing Models

   The storage pricing model is fixed, ensuring predictability, while computational tasks are priced dynamically based on resource consumption balancing flexibility and fairness.

Incentives and Security

   Validators earn rewards in $IRYS for honest participation. Misbehavior, on the other hand, leads to slashing, ensuring economic security and alignment of incentives.

Not Yet Live, But Critical
   
   Currently, $IRYS is not yet in circulation. Token generation is expected with the mainnet launch in 2025. Until then, it remains a core part of the protocol's design and incentive structure.
