.@JeremyLNeufeld + @IFP did an analysis of replacing the H-1B lottery w/ a salary ranking in January, finding:

- Avg first time H-1B salaries would leap from $106k to $172k (!)
- The business model of outsourcing firms would be nuked overnight
- Many more PhDs would get visas
