The earliest Christians were Jews, like Jesus. The earliest churches, whose remnants are still in Jerusalem, were synagogues that maintained Jewish rites, and were for Jews who followed Jesus as their promised messiah. This is the authentic root of the “Judeo-Christian” linkage.
