If everyone owns a new car, it’s pretty hard to sell cars. Presales are not only not needed, but problematic. X price impact when buying, full impact when selling. The bigger the presale, the more sell pressure there will be. You need about as much buy pressure as the entire presale to just keep it from dropping below starting price.
