Some thoughts on Bio Protocol's launchpad and where we're heading.

𝐁𝐢𝐨'𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬
We've leaned into larger fundraises at Bio to give teams the runway for ambitious science right out of the gate. E.g. Think bioDAOs tackling big challenges or tools that push boundaries in research. It's enabled some real progress, and we're grateful to the builders and backers who've jumped in.

𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲
However, that approach came with trade-offs. Projects often hit the market at higher valuations, which can make it harder for supporters (the folks on the demand side who want to back these ideas early) to get meaningful access without the entry point feeling steep.

𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐰-𝐜𝐚𝐩 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐩𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐬
We've been digging into the market, studying models from launchpads like @virtuals_io, @CreatorBid, and @believeapp that nail low-cap, community-driven mechanics. Their focus on traction over hype has shaped our thinking a lot.

𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥-𝐜𝐚𝐩, 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐧
Drawing from that, we're updating the launchpad soon to focus on small-cap, experimental raises. This means earlier entry for things like individual research projects or scientific tooling, lower barriers, more ways to support from the ground up.

Without spilling all the details yet (docs dropping soon), it'll include points to reward ecosystem engagement, raises in $BIO, and tweaks for post-launch stability. We've taken notes from past launches and are iterating to make this new version very strong.

𝐄𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐢𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠
Evolving Bio for better science funding and upcoming launches
It's all part of evolving Bio to better align with what science needs: accessible funding that scales with real progress. More to come, including some launches worth watching. What grassroots science experiments would you like to see?
