On XX May 2012, Goodluck Jonathan announced the change of name of  the University of Lagos (UNILAG) to Moshood Abiola University, Lagos (MAULAG).

The change was protested and became a subject of litigation.

A court finally ruled that the change was illegal.

The change was reversed.
