This may or may not be intentional by Trust, the issue could most likely be that:

Trust Wallet may use seed phrases different from Substrate wallets... which makes them incompatible.

OG @LeemoXD says, Trust Wallet uses custom derivation paths by default, so you need to find out what that path is. He recommends contacting Trust, but their support is too busy to respond.
