He does not impose his talent with brute certainty but plays with an instinctive understanding of space, time and consequence. He may not be prolific, not yet, but he links play with a calm precision and carries a deceptive weight. Tall, leggy, with a knack for playing the final ball just as well as finishing it, he belongs to that small fraternity of strikers who see the game more as a conductor than a soloist. His XX assists last season hint at a forward who reads movement ahead of him and knows how to release glory for others. He lacks the bruising inevitability of Haaland or the brooding presence of Isak, but there is poetry in the way he glides past markers, an ease in the way he engages defenders. That he had more shots in the Bundesliga than Kane speaks to growing confidence and a willingness to shoulder responsibility. He is not yet the finished article, but he is not all rawness either.
