I tagged along to cheer for him. It was an excellent event. But on the side, I decided to experiment with an idea that’s been brewing for a while. Talk to African cab drivers about life in their country/cities and start an online conversation under the hashtag: #AfricanPulse. (With consent*) Our first episode starts in Nairobi, just as we drive out of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). Subsequent episodes happen within the city. Some quick learnings: -@idringp is very popular in Nairobi. -When you listen to Kenyan cab drivers talk about their social and political problems, you might be forgiven for thinking you’re in Uganda. -The future belongs to the young, who, it sounds like, have been robbed of the much needed preparation the current older rulers had. They’re passionate, have agency but very limited knowledge. -There’s lots of faith that the young will correct things but also genuine fear that they might just tank the whole thing due to lack of knowledge and mentorship. Here’s part X of my conversation with Julius. It opens with him telling me about their recent rugby win over Uganda and the reason that @idringp gave for that loss. He said: “Kenyans beat us at rugby because they have had plenty of time to train through “maandamano”” 🤦🏾♂️🤣🤣 #AfricanPulse #TaxiKaboozi XXXXX engagements **Related Topics** [drivers](/topic/drivers) [cab](/topic/cab) [nairobi](/topic/nairobi) [Post Link](https://x.com/TonyNatif/status/1946092880722010512)
