Qubic’s 200T cap is not like Bitcoins 21M cap. In Bitcoin, burned coins are gone forever and can’t be replaced, like you said. In Qubic, emissions can only continue as long as the live supply is under 200T. So burning actually helps keep emission going without inflating past the max. I guess this is probably a unique feature for Qubic. I’m no expert on this. I guess most others are doing it like Bitcoin (gone forever and can’t be replaced), or no max supply at all 🤷🏻♂️ Qubic’s (yearly) halvings slows down the emissions of new coins. This reduces sell pressure (fewer coins dumped by miners). If demand stays the same or grows while supply slows = price go up. And I guess it can also maybe create a "scarcity hype" (halving event being a psychological milestone). It reminds the market that there won’t be infinite Qubic.
