Through my friend Yoel, with strong contacts in the Gaza medical community, I have obtained the following testimony from a trustworthy doctor at Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza:

"Certainly, hunger in Gaza has reached a very critical level. I never imagined we would live through such a reality.

At the hospital, we receive only one meal a day, usually just plain rice. I say this without shame: today I drank a lot of water just to silence the hunger.

But the problem isn’t just about food — it’s affecting the entire medical team’s ability to function. We work long hours with no energy, no proper nutrition to keep us standing. Doctors and nurses are collapsing, not just from exhaustion, but from hunger and overwhelming stress. Sometimes, we perform surgeries while barely able to see from dizziness.

The situation is truly inhumane. Hospitals suffer from severe shortages of everything. Delicate and sterilized surgical tools are often reused unsafely. Orthopedic instruments for bone fixation, emergency equipment like chest tubes, catheters, surgical sutures — especially those critical for eye surgeries — are all running low. Even basic supplies like sterile gauze, alcohol, povidone, and sometimes IV fluids are running out. I’m not exaggerating when I say: we are facing a shortage of everything.

On top of that, we lack stable electricity to operate these devices, and spare parts for maintenance are scarce, making even what little we have sometimes useless."

This is the harsh reality inside Gaza’s hospitals — a crisis of hunger, exhaustion, and critical shortages that endanger lives every day."

The targeted destruction of the medical system in Gaza is a war crime and a stain on Israel.
