McLaren make major decision after recent F1 experiment:

— Andrea Stella revealed McLaren's plans to introduce a new floor to the MCL39 following tests at Silverstone. Speaking to media, Stella explained:

“With the new floor in free practice 1, the plan was always going to be that the floor was a test floor.”

— Stella emphasized the importance of testing the new specification before the Belgian GP, which is a sprint event with limited practice time. He noted:

“[It is so we can get an] early read of this new specification, because the next race is a sprint event where it is more difficult to introduce a new specification, and make proper comparisons.”

— Reflecting on the results from Silverstone, Stella expressed satisfaction with the findings, indicating a positive direction for the team:

“We are actually pretty pleased with what we have seen in free practice 1.”

— The successful test has led McLaren to decide on implementing the new floor in future races, as Stella confirmed:

“All the indications are leading us to introduce this new floor at upcoming events.”
