In most countries, holding an asset longer than 1yr reduces your tax by 50%. Not to mention the constant anxiety of worrying you bought in too high or sold too low. Or go to bed and panic that you don't have an open position. Imagine you just sold at 5.30, made $300, went to bed only to wake up and see price at XXXX. It's a fools errand. Unless you are a sophisticated trader, using trailing stop losses, have a solid trading system and discipline, not to mention XX hours of spare time each day to sit and watch markets. The best move without getting rekt is to buy, and hold long term. And, my personal view is that I won't buy in this current market. That ship has sailed. You should have gotten in at $X. Buying now is risky, it's the top of the market.
