The FY26 Energy and Water bill’s $57.3B allocation—a $766M cut from last year—is a start, but let’s not confuse trimming with transformation. While boosting nuclear security and mining tech is smart, the real test is whether this stops the hemorrhage of taxpayer cash into globalist pet projects. Chairman Fleischmann’s focus on domestic energy over foreign dependence aligns with America First priorities, but Washington’s addiction to “strategic investments” often masks bureaucratic bloat.

The bill funds Navy nuclear modernization and mineral extraction—critical for sovereignty—yet history shows Congress rarely sustains fiscal discipline. Until every dollar is audited and every program sunset-claused, these “cuts” are just performative austerity.

Real reform requires chainsaws, not scalpels.
