It has identified yet another phenomenon—the rate of expansion of our universe—that our laws of physics cannot explain. I also note that for a long time there has been something seriously wrong with our understanding of the universe. Physics can’t explain how not enough mass results in gravitational forces that keep galaxies together. So physicists made up the concept of dark matter. Physics can’t explain why some objects are accelerating as if an energy source pushed them. So physicists made up the concept of dark energy. We can keep making up ad hoc things to address areas where our current laws of physics don’t work. Or perhaps our entire understanding of the laws of physics is fundamental flawed.
