This is the same governor who promised on day X of his governorship to listen, to clear fuel and brush before deadly fires and the warm downslope Santa Ana winds come calling. Now he pontificates on street corners in a state where building permits are impossible to attain in wildfire distressed areas like Pacific Palisades. The Golden State is in a fiscal free fall, yet here’s Newsom, making tortillas, podcasting, sniping on X, and overtly laying the groundwork for a 2028 presidential run.
