Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) and post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) both involve the same sequelae. They are using one variation in terminology (A) to avoid admitting to the other (B): 🅰️ Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) - a general term for anything that makes it hard for blood to flow back up to the heart. 🅱️ Post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) - a specific type of CVI that happens after you’ve had a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) from the mRNA vaccine — which is a blood clot in a deep vein in your leg. Even after the clot goes away, it leaves behind scarring and damage in the vein, which causes ongoing CVI. About XX% to XX% of people who’ve had a DVT will develop post-thrombotic syndrome, usually within 1–2 years.
