We found our lovely daughter who blessed us for XX years,” she wrote. “Thank you to EVERYONE for the prayers and support.” Joyce, known to many as “JC,” was one of four friends swept away during the catastrophic flash flooding in Hunt, Texas. Around 4:30 a.m., rising floodwaters woke them. Aidan called his father, who urged them to get to higher ground. Moments later, chaos erupted. Aidan handed the phone to Joyce, saying he had to help Ella. Then came the scream— “Oh my God, they just got swept away.” Joyce’s final words: “Tell my parents I love them.” Then the line went silent.
