It’s wild how there suddenly seems to be a consensus that Coldplay is the new Nickelback.  I understood disliking Nickelback, but Nickelback was at least a strong example of a certain kind of music.  Coldplay was just another unremarkable alterna band.  Any issues with them should more properly be deposited on the doorstep of U2.
