As I said before, I witnessed this case in person and also testified in court in favor of the defense. What I witnessed was the following: I arrived at the Young Tigers Foundation gym around 7:00 p.m., and an altercation had already occurred between Yoel and Alberto, where Yoel physically and verbally assaulted Alberto. Yoel was inside the gym and Alberto was taken out to avoid a further confrontation, while several of the guys prevented him from re-entry. Yoel came out to the parking lot wearing a fanny pack and with his hand inside it. Then he took out a knife and began to tell Alberto to come closer, he wanted to talk to him. Alberto walked away while Yoel, along with other members of his team, continued to follow him. Alberto then pulled a training katana out of his car and simply defended himself from Yoel, turning a punch from afar. Yoel put his hand on and received a cut that wasn't deep. Yoel called police and was attended at the scene by rescue staff. Note that Alberto weighs XXX pounds and Yoel over XXX pounds. The court ruling in favor of Alberto Blas was due to the fact that evidence was found, through video recordings, witnesses and investigation, that Alberto's life was in danger and that he acted in self-defense, as allowed by law. Alberto Blas was acquitted of all charges.
