The DOT ranks 20th in efficiency savings—dead last among major agencies. While X% taking buyouts is a start, it’s crumbs compared to the $175B in waste already slashed elsewhere. Exempting “safety-critical” roles? Classic bureaucratic sleight of hand.

HHS axed $12B by gutting bloated grants and Medicaid fraud. DOT saved $X. That’s not a typo. Real reform means torching redundant admin layers, not just voluntary exits.

Until they terminate the XXXXXX contracts and $32B in bloat like other agencies, this is theater. Efficiency isn’t optional—it’s survival.
