These female vets would insist upon it as though it were as intuitive as a rabies shot. What it boiled down to was that it is undesirable for a male dog to behave like a male dog, and then if we have to scare you with some health complications which become more likely but are still totally treatable and detectable then we will. I have since chosen to believe that this is done because the average male dog owner (muh freaking fur baby pupperino boi) simply could not get an uncastrated dog to respect or listen to him, and so it is a matter of public safety that these animals have their balls chopped off. When I got this dog, I swear to God that I knelt down to his eyeline and told him that I won’t get him neutered so long as he never tries to do anything gay to me.
