KaiaChain, backed by heavyweights like Kakao and LINE, has entered formal discussions with major Korean financial institutions to issue a won-based stablecoin.

This was confirmed by Chairman Seo Sang-min in an interview with Maeli Business Newspaper, where he emphasized the need to move forward with a won-backed stablecoin to cater to Korean users.
