$QQQ Tech stocks were helping lift the stock market on Thursday, with the S&P XXX on the verge of setting an all-time record intraday high.

The S&P 500's information-technology component was up X% in afternoon trade, outpacing the broader index's XXX% gain, according to FactSet.

The S&P XXX was trading near 6,290, on the doorstep of its prior intraday peak of XXXXXXXX set on Tuesday, July 15, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The Nasdaq already logged a record intraday high Thursday.
