Roc Nation & The Clipse put in alot of effort, time, money and investment into the Album rollout. Roc Nation and Clipse has a marketing and distribution deal with Roc Nation. YES, The Clipse do retain ownership of their music so they are independent in that sense but they do however have to share the splits in the royalties of the project with Roc Nation so Roc Nation can recoup the money they spent in distribution, marketing, and promotions for the album along with the profits from it.
