🇸🇳🇫🇷 Historic Shift in Senegal-France Relations

Today in Dakar, France officially handed over “Camp Geille” — its largest military base in Senegal — and the military airbase at the airport to the Senegalese government.

This marks the end of the Eléments Français au Sénégal (EFS), a 350-troop mission focused on military partnership.

The French withdrawal began in March, symbolizing a new chapter in Senegal’s sovereignty and regional defense autonomy.
