I know a guy who was worth $10M+ in 2006

In 2010 he declared personal BK 

By 2013 he was back to $3M net worth

By 2023 when I met him I think he lowballed me when he said he was worth $20M+

Moral of the story - if you know your asset class and can control your destiny, you can still bounce back even after devastating loss
