Today makes this question even more current.

Despite the apparent numerical superiority, UAE literally dominated Visma today, and I think there's a more serious problem here than Jonas Vingegaard simply being roasted. Structurally, UAE are a step above everyone, to launch someone on the hill with a Mur de Huy-like sprint (in this case Narvaez:) I don't know if any other teams can replicate it at any level. At the moment it doesn't seem so. And again, this doesn't feel like a rivalry. Attempts are being made, they may even succeed temporarily, but Pogi and UAE is a huge step ahead of everyone.

The best of the rest is exciting though - Bora need to decipher why the kind of own pace that worked for Lipowitz didn't work for Roglic, there's an even more complicated situation there now than before - Onley and Johannessen are totally elite, and Evenepoel... maybe the long hiatus at the start of the season is hitting him now. Tomorrow Peyragudes, again minutes are up for grabs. But it's not about rivalry anymore, at least this year, it's more about damage control for Visma.
