Christianity existed in Africa at least XXXXX years before colonisation began. The first set of christians were in North Africa in places like Alexandria Egypt. This was as far back as the 1st century AD. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church also existed in the 4th century, so many years before Europeans colonisers step foot in Africa. The white colonial powers increased the spread of Christianity in Africa but the origins of Christianity predates the colonisers by at least 1,000years.
