$NDX The Nasdaq Composite set a new intraday record high on Thursday as it headed toward what would be its fourth-straight record finish.

Assuming the index does finish Thursday's session in record territory, it would tally its longest streak of record closes since November, Dow Jones data showed.

Both the S&P XXX and Dow Jones Industrial Average recently retreated from their session highs. But the Nasdaq, the small-cap Russell 2000 and the S&P XXX Mid Cap were each hanging on to solid gains.

The Nasdaq was up XXXXXX points, or 0.5%, at XXXXXX in recent trade. The new intraday record high is XXXXXXXXX.
