This post is long. I apologize upfront. I hope it helps Christians and young men (Groypers) trapped under the spell of Nick Fuentes’ racial idolatry deal with America's black-white racial divide.

Belief and Obedience

Watching the discussion/debate between Candace Owens and Nick Fuentes crystalized for me the importance of speaking directly to the issues Fuentes’ raises around black Americans, so-called “black culture” and black intelligence/IQ. The approved strategy when it comes to Fuentes and his followers (Groypers) is to ignore them or name-call them. This ineffective strategy is driven by fear. His followers spam, harass, threaten, and intimidate his critics. Others fear engaging with Fuentes’ arguments because they’re not adequately equipped to refute them.

Only light drives out darkness. The canceling of Nick Fuentes paints him as a martyr and strengthens his following. I think Candace was wise to publicly engage with Fuentes. Believers should not fear the Pharisees, the Gnostics, or the heretics. But a woman cannot adequately rebuke a personality as formidable as Fuentes.

I’ve considered inviting Fuentes to my studio for a conversation. I haven’t done it (so far) because my suspicion is that Fuentes is an op. My engagement style with any subject in public discourse is respectful and non-combative. I let people speak. I have no interest in embarrassing anyone or having a gotcha moment. The way the social media matrix and Wikipedia are currently rigged, a non-combative discussion with a polarizing figure is framed as endorsement. I don’t endorse Nick Fuentes. He claims a Christian/Catholic/Christ is King faith while never pointing his followers to Christ. In fact, I believe he does the opposite. He directs them away from Christ.

Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

Nick leans way too much into his own understanding. His argument that ties IQ to skin color cannot be found in the Bible, the source of all truth.

Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

When Fuentes and Owens went back and forth over the difference between African and European IQ and development of civilizations/societies, Candace humbly acknowledged that she was not prepared to fully engage on the topic. She rightly acknowledged that history has been so abused and distorted that she could not rule out the possibility that historical events – not skin color – could explain the differences. On a topic this important and polarizing – while not dismissing Fuentes’ contention – she smartly declined to lean into her own understanding or man’s. She’s sticking with God’s Word expressed in Genesis. We’re all made in God’s image.

Let me give you an example of what we might learn when we meet our Maker: We may discover that parts of Africa were plagued for sustained periods of time by incestuous mating habits, and that slavery in both Africa and Western Civilization accentuated incestuous mating habits. No wheel in Africa limits travel and the ability to mate outside a very tiny circle. Limited freedom in America during slavery diminished mating options.

I’m not arguing that this is true. Nor am I trying to give black Americans another excuse for failing to excel, assimilate, and evolve intellectually. I’m arguing that as Believers we should accept the truths spelled out in the Bible and avoid developing our own set of beliefs outside the word of God. Our understanding is limited to the Bible and our individual experiences. God’s understanding is limitless.

Deuteronomy 29:29: “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.”

After watching the discussion between Owens and Fuentes, I took two online IQ tests over the weekend. I had never taken one as far as I remember. Maybe we took them in grade school. I don’t remember. One of the tests was pattern recognition and the other was a series of XX questions. I scored XXX on both. I would’ve scored higher on the 35-question test but I took too long answering the questions when I got distracted responding to text messages. Whatever, two distinctly different tests, and they both concluded my IQ is slightly above average for an American man.

I took the tests because I wanted to understand how IQs are calculated. I believe the questions are fair and race neutral. According to studies, the average IQ of a white American is XXX and XX for a black American. I don’t point to skin color to explain the gap. Nor do I deny the accuracy of the difference.

Exodus 4:11: “And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? Or who maketh the dumb or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind. Have not I the Lord?”

Even more importantly, I don’t see the elevation of IQ as central to the improvement of America or the world.

IQ and SAT scores are mostly irrelevant. They won’t be debated on judgement day. BELIEF and OBEDIENCE will be. A lack of belief and obedience plague our world today, particularly America. Man’s real competition is for holiness.

Ecclesiastes 12:13: “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.”

John 14:15: “If you love me, keep my commands.”

X John 5:3: “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.”

The wisdom derived from the pursuit of holiness and obedience to God’s word trounces IQ. Geniuses build and deploy weapons of mass destruction. They invent pills that can be mailed to women to slaughter babies. They enforce social distancing and masking rules, prescribe medical trials to combat viruses leaked from their own labs.

Geniuses worship their own intellect and attempt to outsmart God. They eschew humility. They prove that intelligence that does not serve and submit to the pursuit of holiness fuels wickedness.

Nick Fuentes strikes me as highly intelligent. He misuses his gift.

I’d rather have the acumen of an Amish man pushing a plow than the brilliance of a scientist constructing code at NASA.

The folly of thinking a deficiency in IQ explains America’s fall into nihilism and immorality is the kind of insanity preached on Ivy League campuses amongst the secular elite. It ignores obvious truth:

The murderers at Planned Parenthood, the imbeciles brawling on Carnival Cruises, the feminists and sexual deviants redefining marriage/family, the gold-chain-wearing rappers making a mockery of music, the closeted billionaire pedophiles gatekeeping the doors of political power, and the fake ministers afraid to face worldly persecution… they all seek Satan’s rewards. Their IQs dot a spectrum that sinks as low as XX and soars as high as XXX.

Proverbs 1:7: “Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. But fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

Proverbs 9:10: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”

We live in an unwise world, where neither ignorance nor intelligence seeks the approval of The Most High God.

Romans 3:10-11: “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.”

Nick Fuentes’ self-described racism toward black people and disparagement of me do not trouble me. It’s America. He has that right. I am not important. Neither is the shade of my skin. It is Fuentes’ blasphemous misrepresentation of Christian faith and misleading of young men that causes me to rebuke him in the name of Jesus Christ.

His attitude, approach and behavior are in alignment with the groups he maligns. No belief. No obedience.

We are advised/commanded/warned in John XX that the only escape from a corrupt world is through the Word of God.

John 17:17: “Sanctify them through thy truth; thy word is truth.”
