Never approach a dock and any structure faster than you feel comfortable hitting the dock. The same goes with investing. You should never invest more than you can lose or afford to have tied up for a while. You only lose in a downward market if you have to sell. I keep myself in a position to where I never have to sell period. Instead during downward movements I am always adding to my position and not selling.
