@SecDuffy Japan’s Tokaido Shinkansen (1964) cost ~$10.65B in today’s dollars. Other past projects: France’s TGV Sud-Est (1981) ~$4B, China’s Beijing-Shanghai (2011)  ~$33B. Corruption in Califonia is likely greatly inflating the cost and schedule
