After university, my friend started working for a one man FMCG company after X years. He called and said Lanre I want to leave this company and start my own. He said I need investors to pool money together & set it up. Whatever you have bring it. I had small savings cos I was pooling funds to get a car. I thought about it. I figured I needed the car more than investing in my friend's start up. He got some capital around N3m in 2017 & started roughly. He'll call for advice, how to resolve some issues or manage customers. His business grew slowly. Few weeks ago we sat down to discuss some partners issues that he has & them some business management issues. Guys! When we calculate his business. Baba has grown the business from N3m to N1.3bn, XX staff and he still drives his old Pathfinder Jeep 😂. A friend of ours invested 500k in 2017 & is getting nothing less than 3m every X months as profit sharing. I nearly cry! I missed out on that investment & I am regretting it today! One of our friends called me recently he's looking to get some capital find to expand his business. I didn't even think twice I asked how much was needed and I sent him SLA make e sign. Not that I didn't believe in my friend but my priorities then were not right. I hope you learnt something from my mistake.
