This is the over-simpified view all under-informed people have on the housing market.

There are 1.5m long term vacant homes (gov figs)
There are XXXXXXX unsold homes on the market.

The 'homes shortage' spin is to sell new homes at top prices.

Prices in housing rise when mortgage availability, multiples and durations rise. It has less to do with supply and demand than anyone thinks.
