there's no difference. if everyone stopped buying things w/ cobalt in it, cobalt mining ends. 

smartphones aren't needed. the amish live just fine, as do tribes and other people who lives in wilderness w/o technology.

you choose to use technology and then lay claim to excuses to justify it. stop trying to wiggle, realize the irony.
