The timeline: 1) Sessions recused so Rosenstein ran DOJ on Russia. 2) Rosenstein memo (May 9) trashed Comey for the Clinton-email circus—overstepping July presser and the October letter. 3) Trump accepted the recommendation same day and fired him via hand-delivered letter while Comey was in L.A. 4) Real trigger: Comey wouldn’t publicly exonerate Trump on Russia; he wanted more resources for the probe. 5) After the axe Trump told Lester Holt it was always about “this Russia thing.” 6) Mueller took over the obstruction thread.
