The Treasury General Account is drained and will be refilled to roughly $850b. They had to use this account until the debt ceiling was raised. This is the governments checking account held at the Federal Reserve. All this borrowing will take liquidity from the system (already strained on low liquidity thanks Jerome).

Reserves are basically drained in the tradfi financial system.

IMO: Over the next year rates will drop and QE will kick in hard.
