WATCH: Atty. Dino de Leon, counsel for Rep. Leila De Lima, is demanding clarity on whether Justice Secretary Boying Remulla approved the prosecution’s move to appeal De Lima’s acquittal in her drug case.

In an interview with Pinky Webb on #OnPoint, De Leon called the motion a “brazen abuse” of the justice system, raising concerns of renewed political persecution now that De Lima has returned to public office.

“We’re drafting the necessary cases against those who signed this motion,” De Leon said, adding that the judge may consider citing the prosecutors in contempt for what he likened to “trolling” the judiciary.

He stressed: “There must be an end to litigation in this country — regardless of one’s political affiliation.”
