NEAR vs Aptos: Who Makes It Easier to Join Web3?

This is long but it's definitely worth reading.

Getting started with blockchain apps can be confusing.
If you’ve ever had to create a crypto wallet, manage seed phrases,or figure out how to pay gas fees just to try an app,you will definitely know the struggle.

So we have this NEAR and Aptos, both are trying to solve the issue but in very different ways.
Let's get started.

Let’s take a closer look at how each blockchain is working to make Web3 easier and more welcoming for everyday users.

We all know the the Big Goal of every Blockchain:Bring in the Next Billion Users

Web3 is still small compared to the wider internet.
For blockchain to go mainstream, it needs to feel as smooth and simple as the apps people use every day like Instagram, Uber, or Gmail.

That means it needs to make sure it doesn't have.

* No complicated wallets
* No confusing crypto terms
* No upfront payments just to try things

NEAR and Aptos both know this. But they’re going about it differently.

Let me start with NEAR so as not to feel partial.
What is it's aim?
It only has one.
To Make Blockchain Feel Like Web2

NEAR is focused on making blockchain easy to use even if you don’t know anything about crypto.

Here’s how:
Simple usernames like abdullahi.near instead of long crypto addresses.
Aptos has these too definitely.

Try apps without a wallet first,You can test things before committing.
No gas fees up front,NEAR lets developers cover fees for users.

And the most interesting about them is the Web-like experience.
They have something called Blockchain Operating System (BOS) Which lets developers build apps that feel familiar, like regular websites.

So Basically,NEAR wants Web3 to feel like the apps people already know,no need to learn crypto jargon or jump through hoops.

Is this enough?
Before you decide, let's go though what Aptos is bringing too.

Aptos on the other side is Secure,Fast, and Catching Up on UX

Aptos started from a different place.
It was built by former Meta (Facebook) engineers, and its early focus was on performance and security.

Here’s what Aptos is doing now to improve the user experience:

Nice-looking wallets like Petra and Martian, though you still need to set them up first to ensure security.

Fast and cheap transactions,no other chains comes close to Aptos when it comes to this.
We all know Aptos is built for speed.

Safe smart contracts, Aptos custom language,Move, helps developers build secure apps.

Working on easier onboarding unlike the former,They’re adding features like gasless transactions and account upgrades to make it feel very simple for users to use.

Aptos is still a bit more techie than NEAR though, but it’s catching up fast in making things smoother for users.

So,Which One Is Better for New Users?

1)Near users can try apps without a wallet,Aptos uses can't.
2)low gas fees is for Aptos, Aptos recommend almost zero gas fee for it's usage.
3)Aptos is more focused on secure app development.
4)Both are great for newbies.

So what's my final thoughts on this two amazing project,

To be sincere,Both NEAR and Aptos are exciting projects.

If you're looking for the easiest way to start using Web3,NEAR is more beginner-friendly right now.
But remember, you won't be a beginner forever and as times goes on, you will need something techie and more strong for what you need.

Here is where Aptos comes in because by the time you become a developer or power user who wants strong tools and fast performance, Aptos is the one that offers a powerful platform and it’s quickly improving its user experience.

In the end,The best blockchain for the next billion users might be the that brings simplicity of fast and smooth users experience with no high gas fees.

What's your thoughts on this?
Do you think it's Near that is onboarding the next billion users or Aptos.
Or even both?
@kantianum is an OG for these two projects.
Will need your thoughts on this.
