5/6 Tight Lies and Deep, Densely-Sanded Bunkers: Popular Lob Wedge Grinds in Play

“Links golf is a unique test. You have to understand the course conditions to know how to navigate your wedge selection. It's contradicting conditions. The grass here is incredibly firm, wispy and thin, and the bunkers are heavily-sanded and very tall. The bunkers would lead you to believe that you need a bunch of bounce to get the ball out. But if you give yourself too much bounce, it will be hard to create proper contact off the turf. So players have to find a perfect balance. Players are opting for grinds like .06K, K*, T and L that offer low bounce for firm lies, but enough sole width to escape bunkers effectively.” - Aaron Dill, Titleist Tour Rep for @VokeyWedges
