Chinese miner Zangge Mining, controlled by Zijin Mining, has halted lithium production at its Qinghai facility. The move follows local officials’ orders to halt non-compliant operations.  

Lithium prices saw a swift response, spiking over X% in afternoon trading. Zangge Mining had expected XXXXXX tons of production this year, but the company says the overall impact is still uncertain.  

Early projections suggest XXXXX metric tons for the first half of 2025. Market watchers highlight how this sudden shutdown comes amid strong global demand for lithium.
