@ManishEarth @tracewoodgrains I also chose "York" as the rhetorical example (as a component of New York) because York's name's history reflects Britain's demographic changes. Celtic --> Roman -> Anglo-Saxon/Viking.

Again, China only had one major demographic replacement, and it was mostly 1500+ years ago.
