At first, I was going to call out that if you were real users of the chain, you would've gotten solid airdrops. But I get it... expecting to profit and then actually loosing quite a bit, sucks. Here are my honest thoughts, backed by some data. TGE is one of the toughest things a team has to manage, balancing community rewards, price protection, and limiting toxic participants. Eclipse's TGE had a lot of hype. Expectations for ASC were too optimistic... for example at 500M FDV and X% going to ASC, that's $25M, or $2.5K per ASC. It was these expectations that led to many buying in at $1–2K per ASC. But this wouldn't have worked well. ES would have dumped, and farmers would moved on to farm the next project. Instead, the team protected us from a chart that looks like most other recent launches (look at Fragmetric for example). Let's look at numbers: <45M ES went to Turbo Tap leaderboard ~801K ES went to the 'IRL meet up' people are complaining about (2551 to XXX participants) ~6.9M ES to OGs (20786 ES claimed by XXX OGs so far) That's ~52.7M ES total. Not sure how much went to X participants. If ASC got X% (50M ES), that'd nearly double what went to participants. But the team likely knew that many ASC buyers were just farmers, not using the chain, that would've simply dumped. I just bought a bunch of ASC's from someone who had 39, clearly farming without participating in the ecosystem. These are the people we should be glad got filtered out. That said, I do believe the numbers could've been better... I think OGs got too much, 10K would've been enough. I can't speak on the 2551 claimers as I don't know much about this allocation and the total was only ~801K. And yeah, the ASC drop could've been higher (maybe 1K ES each). I believe the team wanted to purge farmers, but will find ways to reward true believers going forward. Now with a lower ASC floor, and expectations reset, future drops will feel better. If an Eclipse project airdrops just $XX to holders, most will be happy with that since ASC's are only $XXX.
