I’m sure all the same people that were outraged about the $50M military parade are even more mad about this. 

Originally slated for 2020 completion at $33B (2008 estimate). Now, initial Merced-Bakersfield segment eyed for 2031-33 at $28-38B; full SF-LA Phase X at $106-128B, possibly by 2050. Overruns: $73-95B+ vs original.
