🌏GLOBAL #NUCLEAR, #URANIUM AND AUSSIE #ENERGY and #AUSPOL UPDATE!💥

Macro ⚛️nuclear news continues to run fast globally!

After a basic complete failure of commercial interest in offshore wind in 🇦🇺Australia (despite government revenue guarantees), the 🦘government is now considering direct investment. A model which they just chastised the opposition for suggesting for nuclear. You can’t make this up!

👏PLEASE REPOST TO GET THE MESSAGE OUT FAR AND WIDE and FOLLOW ME to stay up to date!🙏

Global nuclear and uranium
X. SPOT off 50c overnight (@UraniumMarkets) to $XXXXX
X. @sprott last count had $73m of powder left; although say $10-20m of that likely to be held for overheads so more like ~$55m-$65m left to spend. Purchases definitely slowing down and musings of the likelihood of further financial investors being willing to take a placement given the sector momentum. And that’s the key – every bit of fundamentally strong nuclear new build macro news strengthens the ability for SPUT to find more willing investors to keep the fly wheel going. Of course it would be great for Utes to actually buy too; what is the straw that will break the camels back?
X. The 🇬🇧UK has signed a deal with 🇨🇿Czechia to advance SMR commercialisation. Last year Czechia signed a deal on large scale new build with 🇰🇷Korea and a previous SMR deal with Rolls Royce, for a small country they have been at the forefront of new nuclear.
X. Getting back to 🇺🇸US Energy policy, and @POTUS and his big beautiful law has effectively ended subsidies for solar and wind projects post 2026; a phenomenal up ending of previous policy and projected to save $500bn over XX years. US Energy policy will now focus on yes some more fossil, but also a massive increase in emissions free baseload nuclear. But that’s OK right, because apparently renewables are the cheapest form of new generation and hence they shouldn’t need subsidies, right? Right? Oh. Right.
X. 🇮🇩Indonesia is progressing its thinking about who to partner with for its nuclear plan, with some in the country urging cooperating with South Korea and 🇨🇦Canada, given they are more geopolitically stable and less divisive on the international stage than 🇷🇺Russia or the US: With our closest neighbour going nuclear, there are certainly lessons that Australia could learn; see here for an older but still relevant article: We can, at the very least, supply uranium!
X. 🇹🇭Thailand’s civilian nuclear co-operation agreement with the US enters into force!
X. @WECNuclear has now announced a deal with @GoogleAI to advance US nuclear reactor construction and operations, this adds to previous industry deals with @PalantirTech and the Nuclear Co and also With Westinghouse Canada and @Accenture . These kind of deals are exactly what we want to see as the industry embarks on a massive US new build programme.
X. More huge AI news, this time announcing $90bn in AI infrastructure to be invested in the Pennsylvania: That’s going to need a lot of energy…
X. Westinghouse has confirmed its plans to build 10x new AP-1000s in the US with construction commencing before 2030. TO BE CLEAR - That’s not one under construction by 2030. That’s XX under construction by 2030!!!
XX. But even this is only a tiny fraction of what would be required in order to meet @realDonaldTrump Quadruple Nuclear goals. Many others lining up for big scale projects- or restarts – to get many more nuclear MWs in the grid.
XX. Yep, once again @SecretaryWright has called the AI Race the next Manhattan Project. Its therefore fitting that it will be powered by nuclear energy fueled by uranium!

Aussie energy and politics
X. The other day there was a rather embarrassing blunder for Treasurer @JEChalmers , @AlboMP around advice from Treasury suggesting he needs to stop spending, and to raise taxes, in order to fix the budget. The opposition will try and make some mileage out of this; but for me the STOP SPENDING issue is really relevant when it comes to LONG TERM RENEWABLES SUBSIDIES that we are signing up to under the current energy policy with the CIS. These structures will impact the budget year in, year out, a structural issue that is being baked in.
X. One of Victoria’s most “advanced” offshore wind projects is dead in the water (you see the pun there!) after @BlueFloatEnergy was unable to find a buyer. This has ramifications for the entire offshore wind dream of #blackoutbowen and the broader @AEMO_Energy plan given it assumed vast amounts of offshore wind coming into the grid. Actually a remarkably blunt article by @renew_economy who admit the company “simply couldn’t make the economics work” DESPITE THE CAPACITY INVESTMENT SCHEME AND A CONTRACT FOR DIFFERENCE GUARANTEETING PRICE.
X. So the @abcnews is now reporting the Federal government is now considering direct public investment in the offshore wind sector. Wow. That sounds awfully similar to the LNP’s previous proposal of public investment in nuclear stations that many on the left cried foul of. And Hence, today’s #meme.
X. I couldn’t help doing a post on Energy Minister Chris Bowen and a #Labubu; but there was a serious point to it. Cult-ism in our energy policy is a real danger.

ASX uranium companies
X. Slow couple of days of newsflow in ASX uranium.
X. Uranium shorts continue to be interesting, Whilst $PDN and $BOE are still 1&2, BOE generally is trending down and it’s the lithium and general mining stocks of $MIN and $PLS now within striking distance of the top spot.
X. I look forward to speaking at the upcoming Nuclear Futures conference in Sydney; for anyone around pls stop past -
