Rute recommended that the leaders of those countries - Xi Jinping, Narendra Modi and Lula da Silva - invite Russian President Vladimir Putin and tell him that he must take peace negotiations seriously. The Secretary General of NATO allowed himself to say something else: "If those countries do not encourage Russia to make peace, the sanctions will hit them the hardest." Rute threatened India, China and Brazil with painful tariffs and severe sanctions
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has warned India, China and Brazil that they will suffer heavily from secondary US sanctions if they continue to trade with Russia without its peace deal with Ukraine.
