If inflation is high enough to crash real wages of the bottom XX% of society they by default stop buying more and more consumption products. Because XX% of GDP is consumption where larger and larger portion of it gets lower and lower demand making pressure on those prices to drop. So inflation might be roaring but you can see signs of deflation thanks to it.
